All staff should wear clean and appropriate clothing when handling food. Ideally, staff who handle and prepare unpackaged food should wear a clean apron or tabard on their clothes. Clothing can introduce dirt and bacteria into food handling areas. You don't need to bring anything.
We provide an apron for use during class along with all the equipment needed that day. Wear appropriate, comfortable clothing with closed-toed shoes. It's not necessary, as we provide an apron for use during class. You won't be surprised to learn that both programs have very similar dress and grooming codes.
The codes vary from large for-profit culinary schools to community colleges, but for the most part they have a similar theme. Most schools want to promote a learning environment in which students dress professionally or “dress for success.” You don't need to wear anything special for cooking class. We suggest comfortable clothing and shoes. We will provide aprons and all the necessary utensils for the cooking class.
